 Our shop, Art Accents,
owned by Bob and Carla Mitchell, opened its doors in August of 1994. Previously, Bob was a
photographer who took scenic shots of the picturesque beauty of
Western North Carolina and traveled up and down the East Coast doing
art shows. Carla ran a wholesale mat-cutting business from home, while
working in Special Education. When time came for a change, Art Accents
Frame Shop and Art Gallery came to be.
Our shop has been a successful venture since day one. Our loyal customers come from Weaverville, as well as North Asheville, northern Buncombe County and Madison County. Along with custom framing, we have an art gallery that features the work of local artists including Robert Mitchell, Elizabeth McAfee, Michael Rogers, Marcus Thomas, and Ann Vasilik. Our goal for the shop, as well as our web site, is to promote the work of regional artists as well as the beauty of the area which they portray.

Housed in a building dating back to 1918, right on Main Street in
downtown Weaverville, our shop has given us the delightful experience
of owning a business in a small town. People stop in to look around,
or to ask directions, or maybe just to chat. We wouldn't want it any
other way. Its the people that make a business worth having, and we
are indebted to the people of the area who continue supporting us and
recommending us to others. We look forward to your visit, and hope
